PENALTY POINTS SYSTEM IN UZBEKISTAN

PENALTY POINTS SYSTEM IN UZBEKISTAN

Starting from June 1, 2025, Uzbekistan introduces a penalty points system for traffic violations. Points are assigned only based on inspector-issued protocols - cameras and radars are not yet included. Points remain valid for 1 year from the date of the first violation. A driver can accumulate up to 12 points per year — exceeding that leads to a license suspension for at least 6 months. The maximum for a single violation is 2 points. Examples of violations: - Speeding: 1.5–2 points - Leaving the scene of an accident: 2 points - Faulty brakes or steering: 0.5 point - Dangerous “group” driving: 1.5 points Bottom line: Fines remain in force, but now penalty points are added. Collect 12 points — and you lose your license.
